The MathScience Innovation Center has more than 100 math and science lessons that are taught in K-12 classrooms in Central Virginia and beyond. Our lessons have are explicitly “inquiry-based” using the 5E Model of Instruction to maximize student discourse and engagement. Lessons range from 60 – 90 minutes and are designed to meet current and future educational and career demands.
Classroom lessons are free of charge to teachers in our consortium* and are scheduled through the designated MSiC Representative at each school. To ensure participation, please confirm all lesson dates through your MSiC Rep by November 1. After November 1, lessons become available to all divisions. For those outside of the consortium, there is a fee for participating in MSiC lessons (see website for information).
