Camp Innovation classes are packed with inquiry, exploration, and discovery. Students will explore topics in science, technology, engineering, and math through design and build activities, hands-on experiments, and engaging problem solving challenges. They will dive deep into subjects that will prepare them for future academic pursuits and spark
their interest in STEM career fields.

Environmental Explorers

Ages: 8-12
Cost: $30/camp

Explore Richmond in a whole new way! Join us outdoors as we explore the plants that grow, the animals that surround, the earth beneath, and the river that flows around us! 

Learn how early humans and animals adapted to the changing climate conditions and how it affects the land and water today. We'll also explore the early uses of plants for health and make our own plant medicine!

Discover the beauty and the importance of our ecosystem, and develop a conservation action plan that helps the land and animals in need!

Camp A: Jul 25 - Jul 28 (M-Th), 9 am - 4 pm



Camp B: Aug 1 - Aug 4 (M-Th) 9 am - 4 pm


Richmond Geographic

Ages: 13-17

Cost: $30/camp


Calling all young environmentalists! Come discover the ecology, geology, flora, and fauna of our local ecosystem. You'll trek along the James River, explore the wild at Belle Isle, visit a local farm and more!


Get up and close with local natural resources and how to use them for survival, study how the people and animals have adapted over time in response to our 
changing environment, and explore the impacts of human development on our ecosystem. 


You'll learn practical skills to track animals, identify plants to make healing concoctions, and how you can help protect our precious Earth.

Camp C: Jul 25 - Jul 28 (M-Th), 9 am - 4 pm

Camp D: Aug 1 - Aug 4 (M-Th) 9 am - 4 pm


Important Information for Parents & Guardians

Campers will be outdoors on Belle Isle and near the James River. Please dress accordingly and pack necessary protection from the outdoor elements. Water will be provided throughout the camp day.

Please pack a healthy, energy-boosting lunch and two snacks for your camper for each camp day. Nut-free areas will be designated for nut-sensitive campers.

After-care is available from 4 pm - 5:30 pm each camp day for $10/day. Select your after-care dates with registration.
