About the Course
Calling all young environmentalists! Come discover the ecology, geology, flora, and fauna of our local ecosystem. You'll trek along the James River, explore the wild at Belle Isle, visit a local farm and more! Get up and close with local natural resources and how to use them for survival, study how the people and animals have adapted over time in response to our changing environment, and explore the impacts of human development on our ecosystem. You'll learn practical skills to track animals, identify plants to make healing concoctions, and how you can help protect our precious Earth.
